Job Overview: Offering Webinars and podcasts to Chapter members is a very important professional development online offering for 2008.

 

Job Duration: Position will be active until December 2008

 

Job Details:

The Director will responsible for researching and finding webinar and podcasts opportunities that are relevant to the many roles that a Project Manager, Program Manager have in a business.  This model can be in the form of either purchasing Webinars and podcasts or hosting a PMI Phoenix sponsored webinar and podcast. 

 

There is budget responsibility with this position.  Revenue projections will need to be analyzed and generated to offset the expenses to purchase or host a webinar and/or podcast.

The Director will be responsible for recruiting speakers for the monthly Saturday Workshop Series from the Arizona business community.  Topics include yet are not limited to the following:   Project Management, Business Analyst, Leadership, Financial Management, .Six Sigma, Procurement, etc.  There are several templates including project schedule, speaker criteria, topic ideas for the Saturday Workshop series management and execution. 

 

This position is responsible for updating existing procedures based on lessons learned from hosting each Saturday workshop.

 

This position will be responsible for finding volunteers to host and market the monthly Saturday workshop.

 

There is budget responsibility with this position.

Job Title Programs - PDM Blue Ribbon Volunteers
Job Description

The PDM (Professional Development Meeting) Blue Ribbon Team is currently accepting applications for 2 volunteers to join this newly created team. If you enjoy meeting and helping people and are willing to go the "extra mile" for the safety and comfort or our Chapter members, particularly before, during, and after the monthly PDM meetings, this may be the job for you.

 

The charter of this team is to provide special services to our members who attend our PDMs and may need special assistance, for example, watching a member's car during an unloading/loading of material. The goal of the team is to insure that our PDM meetings are safe, friendly, and supportive of all special needs. The team will officially be launched on Jan 1st, 2008, and reports to the Director of PDM Logistics.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Offering assistance to physically disabled members
  • Walking members to their cars after the PDM if requested
  • Assisting members by working with hotel staff to coordinate towing, battery jumps, etc.
  • Understand ballroom layout, location of fire extinguishers, and hotel points of contact
  • General observation that all members in the meeting are wearing name badges
  • Act as a Chapter liason with the Hotel management, security staff and police
  • Provide a presence during the PDM registration process
  • During the meeting, be aware of outside weather conditions and provide updates to the Director
  • Continually strive for process improvement of the PDM Blue Ribbon Team

Required Skills: Candidates should have:

  • Good people skills with emphasis on empathy
  • Good intuitive skills and a keen sense of observation

 

Preferred Skills:  Desire to help make a member's PDM experience a rewarding experience.

  • Provide leadership assistance and direction of teams within the Operations department
  • Provide linkage between operations departments (i.e. Reporting, Asset Management, Strategic Planning Documentation, and Process Documentation)
  • Provide assistance as required to chapter board members and leadership team as well as linkage across departments
  • Assist in development of operations roadmap and initiatives
  • Substitute as needed for VP of Operations
  • Meet with project managers and team members on a regular basis and be responsible for assisting the VP of Operations with the direction of chapter operation activities
  • Assist with the development and execution of special projects

Requirements

Candidates should have:

·         Strong leadership and management skills

·         Strong customer service skills and a volunteer service focus

·         Business and data analysis skill set

·         Self –motivated, committed, tenacious and passionate about the PMI-Phoenix chapter.

The Director of Reporting will be responsible for maintenance of the chapter operations scorecard and quarterly highlights.  This includes, but is not limited to the following:

·         Maintain and updated the Phoenix Chapter Balanced Scorecard quarterly in alignment with PMI Global’s new Performance Management Framework (PMF) using the template provided by PMI Global

·         Work with board members and leadership team to consolidate maintain an account of quarterly highlights and updates in accordance with chapter quarterly reporting activities

·         Assist board members and chapter leadership team with developing quarterly presentation materials based on chapter highlights and PMF Balanced Scorecard

·         Assist the board with the completion of the annual meeting presentation materials

Job Description:  The Associate Vice President (AVP) assists the Vice President of Programs in the execution of the Mission of the Programs Team. This position reports directly to the VP of Programs, and in this leadership role, acts as the official back-up for the Vice President of Programs, should the Vice President be unavailable (out-of-town, etc.) or, upon the Vice President's request to take on a specific task or responsibility.

In the absence of the Vice President of Programs, the AVP has overall responsibility and decision-making authority over the Programs Team and all their functions to insure the team is operating effectively and efficiently.  In addition, at times the AVP may be asked by the Vice President to attend a Chapter Board Meeting or to lead a PDM Meeting on his/her behalf.  The position may also incorporate Administrative, Project Management, and Process Improvement tasks.
