Managing Partner & Vice President of Delivery Sensei Project Solutions (www.senseiprojectsolutions.com)

Kenneth Steiness is th Managing Partner & Vice President of Delivery of Sensei Project Solutions (www.senseiprojectsolutions.com)  is an industry expert on Microsoft Project and Project Server and has worked  in the project management and scheduling field for over 16 years. He has managed customer engagements in over  13 countries worldwide and throughout the United States. His focus is on  process and the discipline of PPM and scheduling whenever he engages with  clients to deploy Microsoft Project and Project Server or teaches classes on  the subject. Kenneth has presented at  world-wide conferences for Microsoft and PMI; and to many Microsoft Project  User Groups over the years.

Topic Description:

Much like maps with printed directions are outdated when construction sends us on a detour; static project schedules can not only be outdated, but actually send us down the wrong path with incorrect information for decision making. What’s needed today is the equivalent of a GPS system for our project schedules and PPM solutions.

A typical ‘Static Schedule’ is hard-coded with dates and offers no forecasting ability and as a result is not actionable. A Proactive Schedule, on the other hand, shows actual progress-to-date; reflects estimates to completion; predicts completion dates and total cost estimates; and enables corrective action and better decision-making.

In Microsoft Project, aligning with PMI’s Practice Standards for Work Breakdown Structures and Scheduling is perhaps the shortest path to building high quality Proactive Schedules for your project.

This is a one PDU event about a Project Management Topic.
