Career Development Workshop - Slow Networking
By: Jenn Kaye and Raoul Encinas
|Heard of speed networking? That’s great when you want to meet 20 or 50 people, but you only get a few minutes with each one.
We have a better approach! SLOW networking – go slow to go fast. Spend 20-30 minutes with someone and you’ll really get an appreciation for how they can help you in your job search, and how you can help them. You will practice networking techniques in a safe environment, make new, high-quality professional connections, and develop confidence to network for job opportunities.
SlowNetworking is all about enjoying the high-quality, low-volume networking that happens over time. Fast networking is like fast food - it fills a need at that moment, and gives you quantity. Slow networking is like slow food - enjoy the experience, savor the depth and quality.
